Wild Picture of the Day or #WildPic today is India’s Royal Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris). As India’s supreme court bans tourism in core forest areas, the uncertainty of tourism in tiger reserves hangs in an insecure future.
This sub-adult tiger stands alone at Tadoba Tiger Reserve in India. Picture was taken by AB Apana which he explains the experience to be a dream come true ”Having travelled this road with it’s natural bamboo tunnel many a times and had always hoped to get such an image, finally it happened and I was able to follow this individual for a full 14-minutes during which I could pick and choose the perfect shots”. AB Apana is the co-founder at Bangalore Photography Workshops.
His image seems to epitomise the uncertain future faced by tigers and tourism in India
