The Elephant Family is UK’s biggest charity fundraiser for the Endangered Asiatic Elephant. This charity works to save this iconic animal from extinction in the wild. Along with the elephant they work on other species like the orangutan, crocodile, tigers and hornbills that exist in this ecosystem. They work with local NGO and partners where they currently fund 12 running projects across asia and invest more in areas where they are needed the most; to protect habitats; prevent conflicts and reconnect corridors / homes of the endangered Asiatic Elephant.
On September 5th 2011 we had covered a post of the Elephant Family where they turned Edinburgh into a Jungle City. I was fortunate to be a part of their fantastic annual dinner held at the National Museum of Scotland - Edinburgh. The event finally raised over £350K through auctions in a single night and all the proceedings will be spent on wildlife conservation through their partnering charities in the field.
A video that was played at this evening event was very touching and wanted to share it with our Wild Navigator readers.

(This year, for the first time in history, there will be more than 7 billion people on Earth leaving little space for wildlife and wild spaces on which all life depends. Across Asia, some of the world’s most iconic animals are disappearing fast. If we lose the jungles, they will all be gone. And life for us will never be the same again. Their future is in your hands. Through Jungle City we can change this. Do you care? Join The Elephant Family to show your support)
We at Wild Navigator praise the immense hard-work put by every individual involved or participating with this charity.
